The California Golden Bears took on the UNLV Rebels in the 2024 Art of Sport LA Bowl at SoFi Stadium on Wednesday night. Kickoff for this bowl clash was scheduled for 9:00 p.m. EST, with the Rebels coming into the matchup as a 3.5-point favorite.

Cal is coming off a 24-21 win over Stanford to punch their ticket to the postseason, finishing the regular season with a 6-6 record. The Rebels have been one of the better Group of Five teams this season and earned a spot in the Mountain West Conference Championship Game but suffered a 21-7 loss versus Boise State. UNLV finished their season with a 10-3 record coming into Wednesday's matchup.

After an action-packed first half, UNLV took a 14-13 lead into the locker rooms at halftime. The Rebels carried their momentum into the second half, holding Cal scoreless in the third and fourth quarters to win the Art of Sport LA Bowl 24-13 over the Golden Bears.

California vs. UNLV: Game Summary

After forcing two punts, Cal capitalized with a 43-yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead midway through the first quarter. UNLV responded with a nine-play, 75-yard drive capped off by a 49-yard connection from Hajj-Malik Williams to Kayden McGee, giving the Rebels a 7-3 lead.

Cal answered with a touchdown drive of their own, marching 60 yards in eight plays before Josiah Martin broke free for a 29-yard touchdown scamper to give the Golden Bears a 10-7 lead in the final seconds of the first quarter.

UNLV kept the scoring streak alive with a six-play, 75-yard drive capped off by a nine-yard touchdown catch from Jacob De Jesus to take a 14-10 lead in the opening minutes of the second quarter. Cal mustered a field goal before half to cut the lead to 14-13 going into halftime.

The Rebels dominated the second half, scoring the lone points of the third quarter with a 23-yard scamper to the endzone from Kylin James before kicking a 48-yard field goal in the game's final period to secure a 24-13 win.
