Cam Skattebo drops 6-word reaction after NFL legend Terrell Owens compares him to Marshawn Lynch

Arizona State Sun Devils running back Cam Skattebo was thrilled that NFL legend Terrell Owens compared him to Marshawn Lynch. Skattebo was the star of the Peach Bowl as he helped ASU come back and force OT against the Texas Longhorns.

Skattebo struggled early on as he was seen puking. After getting better, the running back took over the game. He finished rushing for 143 yards and two touchdowns while adding 99 receiving yards. He also threw for a touchdown.

After the dominating performance, Owens tweeted Skattebo reminded him of Lynch. Skattebo responded:

"From the goat appreciate it man!!!!"

Getting compared to Lynch was exciting for Skattebo, and it was also exciting to be praised by Owens. The Sun Devils running back helped boost his NFL draft stock with the performance, as Skattebo could now be a Day 3 pick in 2025.

Skattebo finished the season rushing for 1,711 yards on 293 carries and 21 touchdowns. He also caught 45 receptions for 605 yards and three touchdowns.

Arizona State coach praises Cam Skattebo

Cam Skattebo was the top player for the Sun Devils and a big reason why ASU made it to the College Football Playoff.

After Arizona State lost in double OT to Texas, Sun Devils coach Kenny Dillingham praised Skattebo.

“If him being competitive and passionate on the sideline is a negative, then I’m in the wrong sport,” Dillingham said after the 39-31 loss to the Longhorns, via On3.

“The kid is competitive. The kid is passionate. And if that’s a negative, then I don’t know what a positive is because kids that care and have compassion and believe is the exact reason why we had a chance to win this football game. I love Cam, and we’re going to have a relationship forever.”

Skattebo, meanwhile, said his emotions on the sidelines showed everyone on the team still believed they could win the game:

“Nobody in this room thought we were going to even be close when we went down 14-3 in that first quarter. We believed in ourselves. We believed in what we had going and undeniable is what this team is about because like you said, heroic, too, heroic. Everybody on this team believes in each other and that’s what kept us close.”

Cam Skattebo ended his college career with 4,386 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns.
