Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian confirmed that starting right tackle Cameron Williams will be available to play in the Cotton Bowl against the Ohio State Buckeyes. He missed the quarterfinal game against the Arizona State Sun Devils after suffering a right knee sprain in the first round against the Clemson Tigers.

This is certainly going to help against the elite edge rushers that the Buckeyes will throw at the Texas offensive line, and this should give quarterback Quinn Ewers more time in the pocket and protect the edge on running plays. According to Pro Football Focus, Williams has played 902 snaps at the right tackle position, and in 514 pass blocks, he allowed 16 quarterback hurries, two QB hits, and three sacks.

Where does Cameron Williams land in the 2025 NFL draft class?

Teams are going to be excited for Texas Longhorns right tackle to be available in the 2025 NFL draft. He is eligible for the upcoming draft as he has been three years removed from high school but there are some red flags that also arise.

Williams has played in 37 games, but mainly as a bench player, as only 16 of those games were starts. Despite that, he is still going to be a late first-round draft selection, as he is one of the top offensive tackles in the draft class. He has proven that with his protection this season as a full-time starter, he has the frame that will help in the pros, as he is listed at 6-foot-5 and 335 pounds.

Expect to see one of the current NFL playoff teams use their first-round draft selections to protect their quarterback with one of the top offensive linemen in the entire draft. One team that could be in the mix is the Kansas City Chiefs, as they can use some improvement from Jawaan Taylor at the right tackle position, especially when it is Patrick Mahomes under center.

Expect Williams to be a big factor in how the Longhorns look in the Cotton Bowl, and expect scouts to take notice.
