After entering the 2024 college football season as a potential No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft, Carson Beck has struggled to lead the Georgia Bulldogs' offense. Entering Week 12, Georgia ranks as the No. 7 scoring offense in the Southeastern Conference, averaging just 30.8 points per game, the unit's lowest mark since 2019.

College Football analyst Barrett Sallee directed the blame at Beck for Georgia's offensive woes. On Thursday's episode of "Smothered and Covered," Sallee had a harsh take on Carson Beck's play through nine games, taking to X to share his take from the show.

"Carson Beck is a liability and has been a liability for the majority of the season."

Beck has underperformed this season, leading all FBS quarterbacks with 12 interceptions entering Week 12. He has completed 65.4% of his passes for 2,488 yards and 17 touchdowns, which are solid numbers -- albeit down from last season. He has also thrown an interception in each of Georgia's last four games.

After not turning the ball over through each of their first three games of the season, Georgia has turned the ball over two or more times in five of their last six games.

Carson Beck looking to lead Bulldogs' offense in must-win matchup versus Tennessee

With a 7-2 record entering Week 12, every matchup is a must-win for Carson Beck and his Georgia squad to potentially earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. Georgia's path to the SEC Championship Game won't be easy and the journey starts on Saturday versus Tennessee in Athens.

The Volunteers sit atop the SEC standings in a tie with Texas A&M, with a 5-1 record in conference play entering this weekend's matchup. Despite coming into Athens as the No. 7 team in the country, sportsbooks are favoring the 12th-ranked Bulldogs by 9.5 points.

For Georgia to remain in the hunt for a playoff bid, winning out in their final three contests will be required. After Tennessee, the Bulldogs will have an easier path with matchups versus UMass and Georgia Tech in their final two games of the regular season.

The road to the playoffs will be tough, but the Bulldogs remain in playoff contention despite two losses on the season.
