The Georgia Bulldogs are one of the strongest teams in college football this year. Their victory over the Texas Longhorns at the weekend has put them in a good position to make a run for the national championship.

However, the team's quarterback position could be a cause for concern. Carson Beck is a strong player who, having been thrown into the role last season, has led the team successfully. But his recent form is concerning some.

Beck only had 175 passing yards in the Bulldogs' 30-15 victory against the then-No. 1 Longhorns, the second time in five games he had done so, after throwing for 160 yards in the Bulldogs' one-point win over Kentucky.

But something that is more of a concern was the amount of interceptions and turnovers Beck threw. He had his passes intercepted on three occasions and did not throw for a single touchdown against the Longhorns.

This is not the expected performance of a big-time quarterback in a game like this, and some may believe that coach Kirby Smart should look to his quarterback room for help.

In it, he will find highly touted freshman Jaden Rashada.

A former member of the Arizona State Sun Devils, Rashada, played sporadically last season. In the three games he did play in, he threw for 485 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions.

The transfer to Georgia means that he is going to be surrounded by a coaching team that will develop him into a strong quarterback and a potential successor for Carson Beck.

But, with Beck's struggles, could Rashada see the field earlier?

Kirby Smart commits to Carson Beck

While some would say due to the recent performances of Carson Beck that it may be time for the Bulldogs to give another quarterback a chance, Kirby Smart has committed to the quarterback.

"I'm not saying he played perfect, but I saw a third-and-four scramble where he put his life and body on the line and made an incredible play," Smart told reporters. "I think he played pretty good. But everybody will look at stats, and everybody will look at other things, and they'll have things to say, and we'll keep on playing with Carson Beck."

Playing Rashada or Gunner Stockton may seem like a good idea but in reality, Carson Beck is the strongest quarterback and is a proven leader.

His recent performances leave a lot to be desired, but with a few tweaks to his play, Beck can be a dominant quarterback again.
