Colorado coach Deion Sanders has been waxing lyrical about his son Shedeur Sanders since they moved to Boulder to join the Buffaloes. The quarterback showed a lot of promise in a chaotic season for the Buffs, throwing for 3,230 yards, resulting in 27 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
Ahead of the new season, the Buffs O-line has been bolstered by several signings from the transfer portal, and the quarterback is being heralded as one of the best in his position in college football.
On Wednesday, 247Sports analyst Brad Crawford released his preseason quarterback rankings. Sanders topped the list ahead of renowned names like Ole Miss Rebels star Jaxson Dart and Georgia Bulldogs' Carson Beck.
Crawford praised Shedeur's talent in the report and deemed him a potential No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
College football fans on X (formerly Twitter) had mixed reactions to Shedeur Sanders topping the list of college football quarterbacks.
"Sanders should be 8," a fan wrote.
"Bud needs some clicks," a fan said.
Some fans agreed with the Buffs' QB's ranking on the list.
"Shedeur being #1 is accurate. Haters incoming LOL," one fan tweeted.
"Dart , Milroe and Beck are listed way too high. Either way shedeur is worlds better," another fan tweeted.
"Elite ball knowlegde from crawford right here," one fan tweeted.
Shedeur Sanders gets draft grade from NFL experts
Deion Sanders made headlines a few weeks ago when he spoke about Shedeur Sanders being a potential No. 1 draft pick in the NFL next year. Last season, he promised to recruit a whole new O-line to help his son thrive.
The Buffaloes' move to the Big 12 will come with a bigger platform for Shedeur to show off his talent, and an ESPN report compiled by draft analyst Jordan Reid already showed what they think of the quarterback.
"When they actually protected him, you just simply can't teach the poise that that kid plays with," a scout from an AFC team told ESPN. "They crumbled after those first few games, but in those first games, Shedeur showed that he's capable of operating at a high level when he has time."
Wherever Shedeur Sanders ends up in next year's NFL draft, the team that picks him knows that he comes with a few question marks but a lot of talent.
