The hype the Ole Miss Rebels are experiencing is partially due to quarterback Jaxson Dart who is poised for a big season. According to BetMGM, Dart is the highest riser in their Heisman Trophy odds, from +2000 to +1200, which is the fifth best.

On Friday, rumors began circulating among the Rebels' rivals, the Mississippi State Bulldogs about a possible ACL injury to Dart, which had Ole Miss fans worried.

The Ole Miss Rebels responded by posting a picture on X (formerly Twitter) of the quarterback from fall camp allaying their fears.

College football fans on X had mixed reactions to the picture confirming that Jaxson Dart was not injured.

"Yeaaaa whoever started that rumor just insured the a*s whooping of a lifetime in the Egg Bowl." one fan added.

Ole Miss fans showed their relief in the comments.

"THANK YOU ADMIN LMAOOOO," one fan tweeted.
"ACL looks fantastic to me! Message board warriors are in SHAMBLES," another fan tweeted.
"Great job here admin," one fan tweeted.

Jaxson Dart gets Eli Manning's seal of approval

In June, Jaxson Dart attended the Manning Passing Academy clinic in Louisiana run by former Ole Miss legend Eli Manning and the two Rebels quarterbacks got to interact.

After one of the sessions, Manning was full of praise for the third-year quarterback, praising his personality and ability to handle pressure.

“I’ve been to games, I’ve seen him briefly, but first time really getting to sit down with him, hang out with him, be on stage, tell some stories,” Manning said. “And so just enjoy his personality. I was able to take some light-hearted digs at him, he reciprocated and did the same to me, which is fun. That’s what it’s all about. Kind of makes it special for the group.”

Last season, Dart threw for 3,364 yards, resulting in 23 touchdowns and five interceptions, to complete a promising season for the Rebels, who recorded their second consecutive 10+ win season (11-2).

Alongside returning several of last year's team, during the spring transfer portal, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin recruited the No. 1 portal class according to 247 Sports only increasing the hype that the team is facing.

At the Manning Passing Academy, Eli Manning further pinned the expectations facing Kiffin's team squarely on Dart.

"I've seen the expectations before," Manning said. "It doesn't always work out that well, but I think this year, I hope it's different. I think it's some true excitement for good reasons, and a lot of it is Jaxson Dart, and a lot of it is offensive line, receivers, and talent they have on defense. Look forward to watching them, hopefully getting to some games, and hopefully they can make a good run."

Jaxson Dart has been provided the platform to achieve a historic season for the Ole Miss Rebels with all the talent surrounding him, a coach that believes in him and the possibility of a Heisman Trophy win added to the mix.
