NFL scouts want Travis Hunter to play wide receiver instead of a defensive back

Travis Hunter is a versatile weapon on the Colorado Buffaloes squad. Despite being a talented wideout and defensive back, Matt Miller of ESPN reported that NFL scouts want him to play at the WR position more.

As per Miller's report, NFL scouts primarily see Travis Hunter as a receiver. They believe his speed and ability with the ball are better utilized when he plays as a WR. At DB, he requires more focus on technique and needs to rely less on his speed to win.

Despite the NFL scouts' suggestions, the head coach of the Colorado squad, Deion Sanders, said during the spring that Hunter should play both ways in the NFL.

"The NFL [has] got a problem," Sanders told reporters. "What are you gonna draft him as? And he's gotta play both ways. Because he has value on both sides of the ball."

Last season, Hunter played both WR and DB and racked up 57 receptions for 721 yards and five touchdowns. He also added 31 tackles and three interceptions on the defensive side.

Considered one of the first-round picks, it is still unclear which position the young star player will suit up for in the NFL.

Do you think Travis Hunter should play as a WR or as a DB in the NFL? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
