The Buffaloes lead the series 1-0, with Colorado beating the Bearcats 56-14 in the two teams' only meeting in 1972.
Who is Cincinnati's starting QB vs. Colorado?
Brendan Sorsby will be Cincinnati's starting quarterback in their Week 9 clash against the Colorado Buffaloes. Sorsby has been in stellar form this season and has registered 1,928 yards on 67.2% completion, resulting in 13 touchdowns and four interceptions while adding six touchdowns on 96 rushing yards. He has a QBR of 80.4, which ranks him at No. 15 nationally.
For his efforts, Sorsby was recently added to the midseason watch list for the Manning Award, which awards the best quarterback in the country.
Cincinnati QB1 praises Colorado's offense under Shedeur Sanders
The Cincinnati Bearcats versus Colorado Buffaloes matchup will see two of the highest-rated quarterbacks in the Big 12 go head-to-head. Brendan Sorsby and maverick Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders (2,268 yards, 19 TDs and four interceptions) have pretty similar statistics this season, making the Week 9 game an intriguing one.
During his weekly news conference, Sorsby praised Colorado's offense led by Sanders, highlighting their strengths and expressing his confidence in the Bearcats' defense to stop them.
“He’s (Shedeur Sanders) a great player and one of the best quarterbacks, if not the best quarterback in the country, so obviously, you know their offense is talented, but like I said earlier we gotta score points,” Sorsby said.
“They’re one of the most explosive offenses in the country. Got to expect that they’re going to score points. But I’m very confident in our defense as well, so we just got to help our defense out, try to keep the momentum on our side, and just continue to put points on the board and string together some long drives and just see where we are at the end of the game.”
Before the season began, the Cincinnati Bearcats were tabbed to finish at the bottom of the Big 12 table, but they have surprised the college football community with their stellar form. One of the factors being attributed to their improved form is the acquisition of quarterback Brendan Sorsby from the Indiana Hoosiers via the transfer portal.
