Will Howard led the Ohio State Buckeyes team to victory over the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl on Friday. This win puts the Buckeyes into the national championship game, where they will face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

After the game, Howard first wanted to talk to Longhorns' quarterback Quinn Ewers before giving an interview.

Some fans praised Howard's gesture, describing it as a "class act."

"Because (shocker) you media aren’t as important as a friend. Classy move right there," one fan said
"Will is a Class Act QB!!" another fan said
"I hate OSU, but much respect to Howard for being a class act," a third fan said.
"True sportsmanship. Job well done," another fan said

Some fans criticized how ESPN treated Howard during the Rose Bowl.

"I absolutely HATE that they feel the need to interview players and coaches so immediately after games (and during games)!!! Let them be with their team for a bit, then interview them," one fan said
"I wonder if it’s just his way to stick it to ESPN a little bit for not letting him on stage last week," another fan said
"After they didn't let him on the stage after Oregon, I'm glad he made them wait, " a third fan said

One fan said this wouldn't have happened if the result had gone the other way.

"He wouldn't have been doing this if he had lost," one fan said

Will Howard played with "golf ball" like bump on hand

Will Howard played the game with a "golf ball" like a bump on his left hand. ESPN's Jake Trotter provided an update concerning it:

"Will Howard tells me his left hand ‘is just fine,. Played most of the game with a giant welt.”

Will Howard said it did not affect his throwing ability during the game.

Howard, who transferred to Ohio State from Kansas State in the offseason, led the team to the national championship game. He threw for 289 yards, completing 24 of 33 passes, resulting in one touchdown and one interception.

The touchdown came just before halftime, as he found TreVeyon Henderson with a short pass, and Henderson ran the rest to record a 75-yard touchdown pass.
