Clemson injury report week 1
Coach Swinney provided an optimistic update on Tiger's injury situation ahead of their showdown with Georgia. Among the injured players were the defensive backs Jeadyn Lucas and Shelton Lewis, who the Tigers intended to start the season with.
Swinney noted that both players are expected to be ready by game day, stating (per Sports Illustrated):
"Everybody's right now ready to play. Everybody's good to go. Good to go until you hear otherwise. Everybody's day-to-day."
Meanwhile, the Georgia Bulldogs have disclosed a more comprehensive injury report. RB Roderick Robinson and DT Jordan Hall have been ruled out for the game due to injuries.
"Rod's toe is still an issue for him. Anytime you go into a season, ask what do you have? You really don't know what you have," Smart said.
However, the Bulldogs also listed several key players, such as wide receiver Colbie Young and defensive lineman Warren Brinson, as probable.
Despite these injury concerns, Georgia remains the favorite to win, with oddsmakers at FanDuel setting the line at -13.5 in favor of the Bulldogs. This follows an earlier offseason line where Georgia opened as 12.5-point favorites.

Clemson is looking to reestablish itself as a powerful force in the ACC, a league where it once dominated with six consecutive College Football Playoff appearances and two national championships. Despite ending the previous year with a 9-4 record, which placed them sixth in the ACC, the Tigers would be eager to surpass that performance in the new season.
Coach Dabo Swinney led the team to finish their last season with a five-game winning streak, which they hope to replicate. A critical step in their success will be quarterback Cade Klubnick, who posted a 19:9 touchdown-to-interception ratio in 2023. On defense, Clemson will look to senior linebacker Barrett Carter to lead a younger unit.
