Clemson vs. Pittsburgh kicked off at noon ET on Saturday. The Pittsburgh Panthers hosted the No. 17 Clemson Tigers in an exciting matchup between teams with equal records.
Heading into the game, Clemson (7-2) was coming off a bounce-back 24-14 win over Virginia Tech. The Tigers previously lost 33-21 to the No. 22 Louisville Cardinals. Conversely, after the Pittsburgh Panthers (7-2) won their first seven games of the season, they have lost two in a row. On Saturday, they lost 24-19 to Virginia.
Before kickoff, experts and sportsbooks agreed that Clemson was a big favorite to win the game. The Tigers were -495 favorites as winners, whereas the Panthers were +360 underdogs.
However, the game ended up being much closer than expected. The Panthers had a comeback in the fourth quarter, even taking the lead with less than two minutes remaining. However, Clemson answered back, winning 24-20.

The Clemson vs. Pittsburgh game was not predicted to be a tight affair.
Although it was not expected to be a massive blowout, the Tigers were heavily favored to win. However, Clemson struggled on its first drive, which ended with Cade Klubnik fumbling the ball. When the Tigers got the ball back, they went 93 yards down the field in eight plays to score the first touchdown of the game.
The lead did not hold for long, as the Panthers answered back with a TD on the next drive. While Pittsburgh kept up early, the second quarter belonged to Clemson. The Tigers scored a TD early in the quarter to retake the lead.
The Panthers struggled offensively in the second quarter, failing to score and missing a field goal. Clemson added a field goal with 45 seconds in the half to take a 17-7 lead into halftime.
The third quarter saw no change in the score as both teams struggled to convert on offense. Pittsburgh had a fumble on its second drive of the half, but Clemson could not convert. Additionally, while the Tigers performed well offensively in the first half, they had two separate three-and-out drives in the third quarter.
Pittsburgh started to close the deficit with a field goal to open the fourth quarter. It then continued its offensive output with a TD halfway through the quarter and had another field goal with a minute and a half left to take the lead.
However, Cade Klubnik was the hero at the end of the game, scoring a TD on a 50-yard run to take the lead. That was the final score Clemson won 24-20.
