The College Football Playoff First Round matchup between the 12th-seeded Clemson Tigers and the fifth-seeded Texas Longhorns showed a massive amount of offense. The Longhorns were able to secure a 38-24 home win to advance to the quarterfinals and will play the Arizona State Sun Devils on Jan. 1.

The Tigers (10-4) were able to play a good game offensively but were not able to recover from a bad defensive second quarter. Clemson vs. Texas Game Summary

The Clemson Tigers had a solid game offensively as they were able to record 24 points on 412 total yards (336 passing, 76 rushing). The team became very one-dimensional as Clemson struggled to run the football. However, Clemson passed well with 7.8 yards per pass attempt.

The Tigers struggled on key downs as they went 3-of-12 on third downs and 1-of-3 on fourth downs. With one interception by Cade Klubnik, the team was able to record 20 total first down and were not able to step up enough to continue their season.

The Texas Longhorns dominated on the offensive side of the field with 38 points scored on 494 total yards (202 passing, 292 rushing) and they were able to go 6-of-12 on third downs but only 1-of-4 on fourth down tries.
