“Cmon guys”: Nick Saban’s daughter Kristen Saban clarifies stance on her favorite team amid Penn State outfit moment

Kristen Saban came under fire among Alabama fans on Wednesday regarding her college football allegiance. Nick Saban's daughter posted a video of herself on Instagram story, wearing a Penn State mascot suit. This immediately led to an outrage among the Crimson Tide fanbase.

Nick Saban was gifted the suit by the Penn State fanbase as a belated birthday present during ESPN’s College GameDay on Nov. 2. The former Alabama coach responded by not only sporting the gift on the pregame show but also leading the Nittany Lions fan base in a cheer.

The GameDay gift has seemingly landed in the hands of Kristen Saban and the reaction of fans to her donning it wasn’t what she expected. She needed to clarify her allegiance in another Instagram story post after the initial outrage.

“And obviously Roll Tide, C’mon guys,” Kristen said. “If I can get a big house suit like that, let me know.”

Kristen Saban continues to feel the pressure of a coach’s daughter

Growing up as the daughter of a prominent college football coach has its perks, but it also brings its own set of challenges. Despite Nick Saban’s retirement from coaching, Kristen said she continues to feel the pressure of being her daughter.

Kristen Saban discussed her experience as a coach’s daughter growing up during her appearance on "The Next Round" podcast in June. She told how difficult things could be in some instances and the separate standards used in judging her actions.

"I think it was more difficult in college,” Kristen said. “In high school, I was still kind of figuring it out, but it was just a lot. I'm still kind of looking back and I don't know why people cared so much what I did or said.

“But I'm very vocal, so I kind of put myself in positions sometimes but it's scary and it's a lot. People just wanna know everything, and it's kinda weird."

Kristen Saban is expected to continue facing the pressure and challenges of a coach’s daughter despite her father’s retirement from coaching earlier this year. She’s a vocal and extroverted individual and this will continue to put her in the public eye.
