CMU coach reportedly in hot water amid Connor Stalions' sign-stealing investigation ahead of 2024 season

Central Michigan Chippewas quarterbacks coach Jake Kostner is reportedly in hot water as he was linked to Connor Stalions. Kostner had served as a student assistant at Michigan for four years and knew Stalions from his time with the Michigan Wolverines.

When asked about the potential connection between Kostner and Stalions, Tony Paul of the Detroit News reported that CMU declined to comment on the matter.

"In response to a report that CMU QBs coach Jake Kostner is expected to be out over the whole Connor Stalions sideline fiasco (they knew each other from time together at UM), CMU says it's still cooperating with the ongoing NCAA investigation. Kostner still is listed as a staffer."

Stalions was seen on the Central Michigan sideline just weeks before he resigned as a coach of Michigan, due to sign-stealing allegations.

Although many reporters believe Kostner was fired by Central Michigan due to his relationship with Stalions, the AD refused to comment on the matter.

“Central Michigan does not comment on ongoing personnel matters. The NCAA investigation is still ongoing. We will continue to cooperate and look forward to a resolution," Central Michigan AD Amy Folan said.

Whether or not Kostner will be let-go due to his relationship with Stalions and the sign-stealing is not known as Central Michigan is refusing to comment on the matter.

Kostner was in his second stint with Central Michigan as he served Offensive Graduate Assistant with the Chippewas in 2019. He's also worked at Texas and Limestone University.

Connor Stalions to be featured in Netflix doc

Connor Stalions was the talk of college football last season due to his alleged sign-stealing for the Michigan Wolverines.

Although Stalions has not talked to the NCAA about the investigation, or publicly, he is set to be featured in a Netflix documentary.

Netflix announced the upcoming documentary Untold: Sign Stealer, which is set to be released on Aug. 27. Stalions is set to be featured there and allegedly breaks his silence on the scandal.
