Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes are gearing up for their first bowl-game appearance since the 2020 season. After last year's 4-8 disappointment, the Buffs have improved massively this season, recording a 9-3 season in their Big 12 reunion campaign. They missed out on competing for the conference championship because of their Week 13 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks.
Amid rumors of Colorado players skipping the Bowl game, Coach Prime clarified that everyone will be playing in the Bowl game, including Shedeur, Shilo, and Travis Hunter who are declaring for the 2025 NFL draft.
During the Valero Alamo Bowl press conference, Coach Prime confidently said that all his players would participate and not sit out the Bowl game. They will look to finish the season with a win. He also made a bold statement that Travis Hunter will emerge as the winner of the Heisman Award before he takes to the field.
"We have a plethora of seniors that are pro bound," Sanders said. "And guess what. Every last one of them are gonna play. We don't tap out. We don't sit out. It's a blessing to play this wonderful game. Our kids are going to play.
"We got a kid that probably gonna pick up, not probably what I'm talking about. Matter of fact he (Travis Hunter) is going to pick up the Heisman trophy this week, and he's gonna play. We got another quarterback (Shedeur) who picked up an award last weekend, and he's gonna play...So we cannot wait to put on our best suit and our best uniform.... and we're gonna come there to have a good time."
In which Bowl game will Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes participate?
Coach Prime and his team will play the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl this season. The Cougars finished the season with a 10-2 campaign, failing to make it to the Big 12 championship game.
The Colorado vs BYU Alamo Bowl showdown is scheduled to be played on Saturday, December 28. It will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be hosted in the Alamodome in San Antonio. Fans can catch all the action of the Alamo Bowl on television as it will be broadcast live on ABC.
This will be the last game for Coach Prime's sons Shedeur and Shilo before they begin their professional journey. It will be interesting to see if they can end their collegiate journey with a bowl game victory.
