Coach Prime's ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, gave a shoutout to a group of Tennessee Titans fans who called for the franchise to draft her son Shedeur Sanders this year. During Sunday's Week 18 game between the Titans and Houston Texans, a section of Tennessee was seen wearing paper bags over their heads with a cutout of Shedeur on the front.
The clip of the incident went viral on social media, and Pilar even posted the video of the incident on her Instagram story.
The Titans fans, who requested the team pick Shedeur in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft, also received a reaction from the Colorado quarterback himself.
An Instagram post by ESPN's "SportsCenter" showed the Titans fans with the unique, customized paper bags over their heads and Shedeur described the gesture as "Legendary."
Shedeur has boosted his draft stock during his final season at Colorado Buffaloes under the guidance of Coach Prime. He was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and even won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. Since a handful of struggling NFL teams are looking for a young quarterback for the future, Shedeur could be among the top picks in this year's draft.
Notably, the Titans also hold the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
Coach Prime plans to remain in Colorado despite sons Shedeur and Shilo set to go pro
Coach Prime has done a fine job in improving the Colorado Buffaloes and rumors suggest that NFL teams and other top college programs might swoop in for Sanders in the offseason.
His sons Shilo and Shedeur are also set to leave Colorado for the big league this year, but Sanders plans to remain in Boulder.
Colorado hired Coach Prime in December 2022. He signed a reported five-year $29.5 million contract.
Sanders led CU to an underwhelming 4-8 record in his first season. However, the Buffs showed significant growth in the 2024 season, finishing 9-4 while getting the No. 20 rank in the country.
