When discussing Colorado, Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders always seem to get all the press but that doesn't mean Coach Prime doesn't recognize the efforts of the rest of the team, including his son Shilo Sanders.
Last season, while Shedeur received the majority of the publicity, Shilo was frequently mentioned, and the media tended to cover the Sanders brothers together. A forearm injury earlier in the season that sidelined him for three weeks perhaps sapped some of his appeal.
On Tuesday, Deion Sanders said how proud he is of his son during an appearance on "The Pacman Jones Show."
"I'm proud of him because he's resilient," Coach Prime said (21:38). "As far as I can remember in college football, he's only had one game that people thought was a bad game when he missed several tackles ... Shilo had a tremendous college football career ... I'm so proud of my son I really am.
"You know Shedeur gets the bulk of the limelight, as well as Travis, but what Bucky (Deion Sanders Jr.) is doing and what Shilo is doing is phenomenal."
Coach Prime addresses his future at Colorado
Much has been said about the possibility of Deion Sanders leaving Boulder for Dallas, with him potentially becoming the next head coach of the Cowboys. Coach Prime touched upon this and gave a statement that will surely reassure Colorado's fans.
"I love Boulder, Colorado," Sanders said. "I have every intention, every plan in the world to be coaching for the Colorado Buffs from here on. I want to finish here. I want to put the flag. I want my name on the mountains out there. I want to put my flag down in Colorado."
Coach Prime and the Buffaloes still have one game to play this season, the Alamo Bowl on December 28th against No. 17 BYU. This is the first Bowl game for the school since 2020, and potentially their first victory in the same since 2004.
