Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders pocketed $100,000 as a bonus for the team’s 41-27 victory against the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday. Steve Berkowitz of USA Today first reported that Sanders has earned $400,000 in bonuses so far. Coach Prime reacted with humor in a Bleacher Report video when his sons expressed curiosity about his earnings.

Sanders agreed to several seasonal bonuses before signing his five-year, $29.5 million contract with Colorado.

In a video originally posted on his Instagram handle and later shared by Bleacher Report, Deion Sanders consults his phone as Shedeur asks if he earns $100,000 per win.

"I heard you get like extra $100,000 per win. Where mine at?" Shedeur Sanders asked.
“It’s all over Twitter,” Deion Sanders Jr. said.

Then Shilo Sanders asked his father:

“Hey, why don’t you buy a pickleball court?”

Coach Prime himself commented on the report by Bleacher Report, saying:

“My kids are hilarious.”

Thanks to a performance-based contract for Sanders, according to BetMGM, he is eligible for an extra $100,000 per victory this season. The Buffaloes' win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders was their third consecutive victory.

Coach Prime's Colorado Buffaloes eye Big-12 championship

The victory over Texas Tech is also the Buffalo's 6th win in seven games, bringing their season-wise win record to 7-2. They face Utah, Kansas and Oklahoma State in the final three games of the regular season. More importantly, the Colorado Buffaloes are bowl-eligible for the first time in four years. This is a considerable improvement over last season’s 4-8 record.

After winning the 6th game of the season, Coach Prime received a bonus of $150,000, according to BetMGM.

Some more incentives from Sanders’ contract are:

  • Sanders gets $150,000 if Colorado wins the Big 12
  • Sanders gets $150,000 if he wins the National Coach of the Year.
  • Sanders gets $75,000 if he wins the Big 12 Coach of the Year.

Against Texas Tech, Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter led the charge. Sanders completed 30-of-43 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns. Hunter recorded nine receptions for 99 yards and a TD.
