As a player, Coach Prime was a two-sport star, winning two Super Bowls and appearing in a World Series. With the Colorado Buffaloes looking to complete their baseball coaching staff, Robert Littal of BSO proposed an intriguing idea.

“Just have Prime coach. If Deion Sanders would have focused just on baseball he could have been like Mookie Betts,”, said Littal on his offical X account.

Some fans claimed the comparison might be a stretch, given that Mookie Betts is among the best players in today's game. While Coach Prime was a top player in his own right, Betts is a perennial All-Star.

Coach Prime has already turned the football program around, leading the Buffaloes to a 9-4 record and an Alamo Bowl berth. Additionally, cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter won the Heisman Trophy under his leadership.

The Colorado Club Baseball Team represents the University of Colorado in the National Club Baseball Association. While the team represents the school, it does not compete as part of the NCAA. They still play teams such from the Air Force Academy and Colorado State, setting up regional rivalries.

The school had an official baseball program for 90 years, but it was discontinued after the 1980 season. Deion Sanders has been hyping up a possible return of the baseball program, but so far, they still only play club baseball.

Coach Prime was a dual-sport star in the early 1990s

While Deion Sanders might not have reached the iconic two-sport status of Bo Jackson, he still made a significant impact in baseball. He finished his career with a .263 batting average, 39 home runs, and 186 stolen bases.

Coach Prime had a career WAR of 5.5 in nine seasons in Major League Baseball. As on the football field, speed was one of his main traits on the diamond.

His best baseball season came in 1992 with the Atlanta Braves. That year, he led the Majors in triples and also stole 26 bases. The Braves advanced to their second straight World Series, ultimately losing in six games to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Sanders was also a part of the Braves' World Series team the previous season, but he did not participate in the Fall Classic due to a clause in his Atlanta Falcons contract that required him to report to the NFL for the full season.

Throughout his baseball career, Sanders played for the New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants, in addition to the Braves.
