Deion Sanders, head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, is fulfilling a special promise to 100-year-old superfan Peggy Coppom, lovingly known as "Miss Peggy." As a thank-you for her unwavering support, Sanders has offered her a luxurious trip to the upcoming Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. She’ll travel in style aboard a private jet, ensuring her journey is as memorable as her legacy.

After the Buffaloes were selected to play in the Valero Alamo Bowl, Sanders announced on Instagram the team's intention to invite Miss Peggy:

“That was the goal, to get Miss Peggy to a bowl ... we gonna get her a private plane because she don't fly ... first class,” Deion Sanders said.

Miss Peggy, a beloved icon among Colorado fans, has attended over 330 games at Folsom Field during her 58 years of loyalty to the Buffaloes. Her connection to the team goes back to the 1940s, making her a cherished part of the Colorado community.

Recently, she celebrated her 100th birthday, with fans honoring her at a game against Utah by singing “Happy Birthday” in front of more than 54,000 cheering supporters.

Earlier this year, Sanders vowed to get Miss Peggy to a bowl game, and with their sixth win in October, the Buffaloes secured the opportunity to make that promise a reality.

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are headed to the postseason

The Valero Alamo Bowl announced Sunday that the No. 23 Buffaloes will face No. 17 BYU on Dec. 28 at 7:30 PM ET in the Alamodome of San Antonio. The game, airing on ABC, gives Colorado a chance to secure its first bowl victory since 2004 when Joel Klatt led the team.

This matchup is intriguing because both teams are Big 12 members but didn’t meet during the regular season. BYU and Colorado finished third and fourth in the conference standings, adding extra spice to this showdown.

It’s been a remarkable turnaround for Colorado under Deion Sanders. Just a season ago, the Buffs wrapped up a rough 4-8 campaign. Now, Coach Prime has made good on his promise, taking CU — and yes, Miss Peggy — to a bowl game. It’s time to see if the Buffaloes can complete their redemption story.
