Following the disappointment of the 2023 college football season, Deion Sanders has orchestrated a resurgent Colorado team this campaign. The Buffaloes boast a 6-2 record and have an outside chance to make the Big 12 championship game, having sealed bowl qualification.

The host of the “DNVR Buffs” podcast, Ryan Koenigsberg, appeared in a segment of the “Zach Gelb Show” posted on Thursday to discuss the future of Deion Sander at Colorado. Koenigsberg said he expects Coach Prime to spend several more years in Boulder at the helm of the Buffaloes football program.

“You obviously never know exactly what’s going to happen but I’ll say this: Coach Prime is really happy in Colorado,” Koenigsberg said. “Colorado has completely embraced him. He’s embraced the state. He never stops talking about how much he loves it here.”

“And on top of that, the way that they are recruiting freshmen and beyond for next season, I think it’s a great time for Colorado fans. He’s not viewing this as a short-term thing.”

Travis Hunter gives a hint on Deion Sanders’ future

Travis Hunter recently appeared on the “Outta Pocket with RGIII” podcast and discussed his career and future in the NFL. While responding to a question from Robert Griffin, he provided a clue about Deion Sanders. Ryan Koenigsberg later cited his answer.

“Travis Hunter was asked by RG3 recently; ‘Would you like Coach Prime to be your coach in the NFL?’ And he said ‘No, no, he’s home. This is home for him now,’” Koenigsberg said.

“I don’t know how long Coach Prime envisions himself coaching at the college level, but I would put a pretty good number on it that as long as he’s coaching at the college level, it will be at Colorado… I think if he's going to be coaching in college football, it’s going to be at Colorado.”

Koenigsberg, who has interviewed Sanders several times, added that he was 90% sure that the coach would remain in Boulder in the coming years. Coach Prime appears to be making significant progress with the Buffaloes, and it remains to be seen how long that success will last.

There were rumors that Deion Sanders would follow his children to the NFL ahead of the 2024 college football season. However, the Pro Football Hall of Famer ruled out that possibility, reinstating his commitment to Colorado. Both Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, along with Travis Hunter, are playing their final season in college football.
