Julian Lewis seems ready to start his life as a member of the Colorado Buffaloes of Coach Prime. The four-star quarterback recruit posted a series of pictures of himself in Colorado apparel and a final photograph of the now-famous "chill guy" meme.
To the post, he added the following commentary:
"𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨…🧍🏽"
Colorado will need a new quarterback in 2025, as Shedeur Sanders will be leaving for the NFL. Lewis has, in this way, a clear path to the starting job next year. He is considered a four-star recruit by 247 Sports and On3, while ESPN and Rivals have him as a five-star recruit.
According to 247 Sports, he was the ninth-best quarterback available in the nation, and the 115th best player in 2025 class. To get him, Coach Prime and Colorado had to beat the competition of Auburn, USC, Indiana and Alabama.
Julian Lewis on what it means to join Coach Prime at Colorado
Back in November, Lewis spoke on "The Pat McAfee Show" and opened up about what made him choose the Buffaloes. According to him, it was everything about joining Deion Sanders and Pat Shurmur at Boulder:
"I'm excited for the opportunity to get to work and compete," Lewis told ESPN. "Colorado wasn't recruiting me until I reclassed, so it really was perfect timing. This is only the beginning. I trust Coach Prime and [offensive coordinator Pat] Shurmur to help me become the player that I want to be."
Colorado came into play late in the game, shortly after Julian Lewis broke off his long-time commitment to the USC Trojans.
Lewis had been interested in the Buffaloes since visiting the Boulder campus in June this year. He visited the school for a second time early in the fall, for Colorado's 34-23 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats.
