Julian Lewis is already making his presence felt in Boulder. While his practice session with Shedeur Sanders may have caused some controversy about NCAA rules, his post-practice comments are turning heads. Lewis shared his thoughts on Shedeur’s NFL prospects, saying:
"I’m just spectating future New Giants Quarterback … I’m so inspired I get to watch him and Travis Hunter everyday."
Deion Sanders, Shedeur Sanders, Heisman-winner Travis Hunter and the Colorado Buffaloes arrived in San Antonio for the Valero Alamo Bowl earlier this week. They're looking to secure a win against the No.17 BYU Cougars. The 9-3 Buffaloes will play in their fourth Alamo Bowl, facing off against the 10-2 Cougars.
Shedeur is getting used to potentially being the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Giants are being mentioned as a possible destination.
Julian Lewis may replace Shedeur Sanders in Boulder next year
Colorado Buffaloes fans are already looking to the future, and Julian Lewis is a key piece. Shedeur is set to depart for the NFL after the Alamo Bowl, and the teenager is expected to step into his big shoes. Can he live up to the hype?
Lewis will officially enroll with the University of Colorado in January. He’s running the scout team for Colorado’s Alamo Bowl practices against BYU, getting reps and settling in Boulder. This early opportunity shows Coach Prime’s confidence in Lewis’s potential.
He’s even considered one of the few true freshmen who could start in their first year of college ball.
"That young man is phenomenal. He's a really good quarterback, he's got all the intangibles. The kid's a winner," Coach Prime said.
Lewis reclassified from the 2026 to the 2025 class, having started 43 high school games. He recorded a 69% completion rate for over 11,000 yards.
