Deion Sanders is rightly making the headlines not just for Colorado’s latest 52-0 victory, but for how his team stacked up wins to end the season with a shining 9-3 record, topping the Big 12.

USA Today reporter Steve Berkowitz highlighted how Deiondra’s father would receive a $100,000 bonus after the Buffaloes’ crushing 52-0 win over Oklahoma State. Berkowitz noted:

“Colorado coach Deion Sanders adds another $100,000 bonus as Buffs get 9th regular season win by routing Oklahoma State, 52-0. Sanders now has $600,000 in bonuses so far.”

Deion’s eldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., reshared the update and tagged the rest of the clan. However, Deiondra Sanders took advantage of the message by demanding a Christmas full of gifts.

“👀 @DeionSanders Christmas should be great 😬🙌🏾.”

The Sanders household has every reason to be in high spirits. Coach Prime’s impact on Colorado Buffaloes is visible as his leadership has earned a 9-3 record for the Buffs, far exceeding expectations and firmly securing a bowl game berth. Meanwhile, Deiondra’s son, baby Snow Que, added to his delight personally as he embraced the new role of being a grandfather.

Deion Sanders' Contract and Bonuses Explored

Deion Sanders has justified his five-year, $29.5 million contract without a spec of doubt. Currently, he is the fifth-highest-paid coach in the Big 12 (excluding BYU’s Kalani Sitake, whose salary remains undisclosed).

As per The Sporting News, Prime’s contract guarantees additional win bonuses worth $100,000 for each subsequent victory, including games against Texas Tech, Utah, and Oklahoma State, after bowl eligibility.

Sanders has amassed $600,000 in bonuses this season alone, bringing his total earnings even higher when combined with his base salary and endorsement deals.

The veteran has turned Colorado into one of the most talked-about programs in college football. His achievements in just his second year as head coach have delivered on the high expectations he set as he transitioned from Jackson State University, along with talented players like sons Shilo and Shedeur Sanders as well as Travis Hunter. The team is now waiting for the bowl game ahead, with Hunter’s Heisman campaign gaining steam, giving Coach Prime the perfect end to 2024.
