Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter was crowned this season's Heisman winner on Saturday. He bagged first place with 552 first-place votes and 2,231 points. Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty was the Heisman runner-up with 309 first-place votes and 2,017 points.

Some college football fans have argued that Ashton Jeanty should have been the winner instead of Hunter. Coach Prime's eldest son Bucky took to social media to comment on the discourse surrounding the Heisman winner. He called out the haters and trolls with a bold statement.

"It's really a lot of b**ch made people out in this world," Bucky posted.

Former NFL QB and 2011 Heisman winner Robert Griffin III replied to the tweet, stating that Bucky and those around him should ignore the hate. Instead, they should focus on enjoying this moment and celebrating with Travis Hunter. Bucky responded by agreeing that RGIII made a valid point.

"Go celebrate this massive milestone with your people my guy. They just trying to drag yal down. If you ain't got no haters, you ain't poppin," GRGIII wrote.
"You sir, are 100% right," Bucky replied.

Hunter is the second Colorado player to win the Heisman award. Late ex-Buffs Rashaan Salaam was the first to win the coveted trophy back in 1994. Hunter's two-way abilities have been compared to the likes of former Michigan star Charles Woodson. Many fans also argue that Travis Hunter is better than Woodson.

The Colorado two-way star helped the team record a 9-3 campaign in the Big 12 this season. This will be their first Bowl appearance since the 2020 season and they will take on the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl on December 28. This will be the last time Hunter plays for the Buffs before focusing on the 2025 NFL Draft.

Deion Sanders heaps praise on Travis Hunter after Heisman victory

Hunter was a former five-star prospect who decided to play under Coach Prime at Jackson State. He then followed Sanders and his sons Shedeur and Shilo by joining the Buffs last season. In his debut campaign, Hunter was honored with the Paul Hornung Award.

After his Heisman triumph, Deion Sanders praised Hunter. He also stated that Hunter is always focused on being the best version of himself.

"Allowing a young man to be unapologetically who he is. He wants to be great at everything. Great student, great offensive player, great defensive player, great young man," Coach Prime said.
"Loves the game, loves the practice, loves his family, loves his mother, loves his father, loves his fiancee. He wants to have a commitment to excellence in everything he does."

The Colorado vs BYU Alamo Bowl showdown will take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. It will be interesting to see if Travis Hunter can end his collegiate career with a victory in this prestigious Bowl game.
