Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders will be at Alamodome Stadium in Texas on Saturday to lead the No. 23 Colorado Buffaloes against the No. 17 BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl. Coach Prime's ex-wife, Carolyne Chambers, has also arrived in San Antonio to support the Buffs.
On Friday, Carolyne uploaded a story on Instagram wearing a Colorado headband. Other than the Buffs, Deion's first wife comes to Colorado events to support her son, Deion Sanders Jr., nicknamed "Bucky," who's been showing a different side of the team through his social media organization, "Well Off Media."
"Go Buffs! We Here!" Carolyne wrote in the story.
The Buffs would want to cap off an amazing 9-3 season with a bowl-game victory. They need all the support from fans as Sanders gets ready to coach his sons, Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders, for the last time in college football.
Coach Prime is taking Alamo Bowl seriously
Deion Sanders isn't treating the Alamo Bowl like a vacation. “We’re not here to make a cameo,” he declared at Friday’s press conference, setting a serious tone for Colorado’s clash with BYU. His comments made it clear this game is about more than just football; it's about proving something.
Sanders also praised BYU’s disciplined style, saying:
“They’re not going to beat themselves. You’ve got to play smart and execute because they play the game the right way.”
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders compared preparing for BYU to “calculations and adjustments. You’ve got to figure it out play by play.” Coach Prime also knows he’ll have his work cut out for him in San Antonio against Kalani Sitake’s team.
“It’s a task. We’ve been putting in the work, and now it’s about execution,” the Colorado coach said. “Neither of us was supposed to be here. This is a blessing. So many people wish they could be in our shoes. We’re not taking this for granted,” he added.
Beyond the game itself, Sanders also acknowledged the emotional aspect. For some key players, considering the Alamo Bowl will be their last game in college.
“Don’t forget Travis. Don’t forget Shedeur, Shilo, and all the seniors,” he said.
This Alamo Bowl is a big deal for Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes, and they would like to win it against a strong BYU team.
