Coach Prime's ex-wife Pilar Sanders shared a heartwarming Instagram post for her two sons Shilo and Shedeur Sanders on Wednesday. Pilar uploaded an image of herself and her boys at Folsom Field before Shilo and Sheduer led CU to a 52-0 victory against Oklahoma State on Friday.
"Sons ❤️" Pilar wrote in the IG caption, followed by several hashtags. "#proudmom #footballmom #shedeursmom #shilosmom #shedeursanders #pilarsanders #shilosanders #legendary #headachegang #2 #21 #sandersbrothers #sons #mysons #grateful #family"
Both Shilo and Shedeur played important roles in Colorado's regular-season finale.
In defense, Shilo helped the Buffs record their first shutout win of the season. The defensive back finished with four tackles and one fumble recovery. Shilo finished the regular season with 59 tackles, one sack, one pass defended and one forced fumble in nine games.
Meanwhile, Shedeur speared Colorado's offense with precision. He completed 34 of 41 passes for 438 yards and threw five touchdowns, with one interception.
Shedeur, who is in contention to win the Heisman Trophy, finished the regular season with 3,925 passing yards, 35 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also added four rushing touchdowns across 12 games.
The Buffs finished the regular season with a 9-3 record (7-2 in Big 12). Although Colorado failed to get a spot in the Big 12 title game, the Buffs will play a bowl game later in December.
Earlier this week, Coach Prime confirmed that his big stars will play in CU's bowl game. The bowl game could be the last time Shilo, Shedeur and Travis Hunter play together for Colorado before declaring for the 2025 NFL draft.
Coach Prime joined sons Shilo and Shedeur Sanders for ceremonial walk before CU vs Oklahoma State game
Although Shilo and Shedeur Sanders appeared to share a special moment with their mother Pilar at Folsom Field on Friday, Coach Prime was not part of their group.
However, Deion was with his sons when they began their ceremonial walk on the pitch. The Colorado coach left the scene when his boys approached Pilar. [Timestamp: 4:50]
Deion and Pilar were married from 1999 until their high-profile divorce in 2015. They also have another daughter named Shelomi, who is the youngest of their three children. Shelomi plays college basketball at Alabama A&M.
Since their divorce, Deion and Pilar have reportedly avoided each other. It appeared that they also kept a distance from each other at Folsom Field on Friday, despite their sons' celebratory day.
