Safety Shilo Sanders had the perfect response after Colorado’s dominant 48-21 win over UCF on Saturday. He took to Instagram, editing a photo of UCF quarterback KJ Jefferson with just one word:
"FACTS," and an arrow pointing to his brother, Shedeur Sanders.
The jab came after months of talk about Jefferson’s locker-room motivation, which included a picture of Shedeur along with a quote from Skip Bayless, in June:
“He’s not just the best QB in the Big 12, but the best QB in the country.”
But after Saturday’s game, it was clear that the Sanders brothers had the last laugh. Shedeur even reposted the edited photo, which caught the attention of their mother, Pilar, who shared it on her Instagram.
The playful rivalry has been ongoing since Jefferson explained during Big 12 Media Days in July that he hung the photo up for motivation:
"I was just looking for some in-house motivation…" Jefferson said via CBS Sports. "It just gives you that edge, that fire to make sure that you don't take anything for granted."
Meanwhile, both teams had entered the game on a high. Colorado pulled off a thrilling comeback against Baylor with a last-second 43-yard Hail Mary touchdown to force overtime, while UCF overcame a 21-point deficit to edge past TCU in their conference opener.
However, this time, Colorado’s win was decisive, and Shilo didn’t miss his chance to troll Jefferson in the best way possible.
Shilo's "best QB" Shedeur’s strong performance vs. UCF
Shedeur Sanders led the Buffaloes to a 48-21 win over UCF with a strong performance, throwing for 290 yards and three touchdowns. The game kicked off with both teams trading interceptions, but Sanders quickly found his rhythm. Completing 28 of 35 passes, he connected for 290 yards, despite one interception.
Travis Hunter hauled in nine catches for 89 yards, while Will Sheppard added 99 yards on four receptions. Sanders' 23-yard strike to Hunter got Colorado on the board, and a 47-yard touchdown to Sheppard put them ahead for good.
So far this season, Sanders has racked up 1,340 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and just two interceptions, with a QBR of 63.9.
Shedeur’s brother, Shilo, is on the mend after injuring his right forearm in the Week 2 game against Nebraska.
