Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter continued his relentless march up the Heisman Trophy rankings after leading his team to bowl eligibility for the first time in eight years. Hunter, who spent last week fishing with Colorado coach Deion Sanders, climbed to No. 2 on the list of favorites for the prestigious trophy despite the Buffs having an open week.
Ahead of the Buffs' pivotal Week 11 clash against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Coach Prime's mother Connie Sanders reposted a picture of Hunter on her Instagram stories to show her support.

Travis Hunter favored to win Heisman Trophy
This week, during an episode of the "Joel Klatt Show," Fox analyst Joel Klatt was emphatic in his assertion that Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are among the five best players in college football and therefore should be considered frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy.
"Shedeur is likely the best quarterback in the country," Klatt said. "Travis is likely the best player in the country, and they're going to be tough to beat. Texas Tech is, I think, going to be their hardest game for the remainder of the season.
"If you are creating a list of top five players for the Heisman Trophy, Colorado has two on that list... Shedeur doesn't get the credit he deserves, but he is so good. Travis is at the top, at least on my Heisman list and many others. I got Colorado winning this one 34–31."
Hunter is the second favorite (+200) to win the Heisman Trophy behind Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward (+180) and ahead of Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel (+275). However, his two competitors desire conference championship and College Football Playoff spots.
During an appearance on FOX's "Big Noon Kickoff" before the clash against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Deion Sanders was unequivocal in supporting Hunter for the award.
“Travis gets my vote. Travis is the best player in college football. Shedeur is that guy," Coach Prime said. "He's the catalyst. He makes everything go and enables Travis to be Travis. But Travis Hunter is doing something we've never seen before.”
As the college football season enters the homestretch, the Colorado Buffaloes contending for the Big 12 championship game will be good news for Hunter who will get even more plaudits for leading his team into the postseason.
