Colorado's two premier stars, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and the Heisman-contending sensation Travis Hunter, led the Buffaloes to a 9-3 record this season, falling just short of making an appearance in the Big 12 championship game. The duo have also been tabbed by ESPN as potential 1-2 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

On Friday, Colorado coach Deion Sanders showed his appreciation for his two stars on X, quote tweeting a tweet praising the duo.

"Lawd JESUS!" Deion Sanders tweeted.

During an appearance on Friday's segment of SportsCenter, Travis Hunter lauded his relationship with Shedeur Sanders, which has allowed him to thrive offensively this season.

“It’s been very, very good, like you said, because I know a quarterback that I’ve been sticking with for three years,” Hunter said. “He knows exactly where I like the ball placement. I know exactly how he wants me to run the route. So, it’s definitely put me in a spotlight where I can get more catches, more targetsnand more touchdowns.”

Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders projected as No. 1-2 picks

During last week's segment of the "Gojo and Golic" show, ESPN Draft expert Matt Miller revealed that the speculation around Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders being picked as the first and second draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft is accurate. He further elaborated that their charismatic Colorado coach Deion Sander's hype had nothing to do with their draft stock.

"I mean, they (Shedeur & Hunter) are spectacular players and they just deserve to be at the top," Miller said. "This is not about the hype of Coach Prime or any of that. These are really, really good football players who've earned that billing as top prospects in this class."

Miller added:

"Now, I think what's most interesting in this mock draft, I had the New York Giants trading up to No. 1 overall where the Jacksonville Jaguars sit right now and I think it's important to note that Coach Prime is going to be very influential over where his guys as he calls them, where they land.
"I think if you're a fan of the Cleveland Browns or the Carolina Panthers or the New York Jets, you could probably cross these guys off your wishlist."

Travis Hunter had a sensational season on both sides of the ball. He played in 84% (1,422 of 1,696) of the Buffs' snaps this season registering 1,152 yards from 92 receptions resulting in 14 touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball. He added 11 pass breakups, four interceptions, one forced fumble and 31 tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

On the other hand, the NFL-bound Shedeur Sanders registered 3,926 yards on 74.2% completion, resulting in 35 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
