Deion Sanders defended his son, Shedeur Sanders, from swirling NFL Draft rumors on Saturday. It began after the account “NFL Rookie Watch” posted on X (formerly Twitter), claiming Shedeur was “prepared” to be drafted by either the Las Vegas Raiders or Dallas Cowboys in the upcoming NFL Draft.
The post also alleged that Shedeur would refuse to play for teams like the New York Giants or Cleveland Browns, drawing comparisons to Eli Manning’s refusal to join the Chargers in 2004.
The rumors quickly caught fire, but Shedeur’s brother, Deion Sanders Jr. (aka Bucky), was the first to react, calling out the post as entirely false.
“Bro is completely lying about everything he just tweeted,” Bucky wrote on X.
An hour later, Coach Prime stepped in to set the record straight, delivering a clear response of his own.
“A Lie don’t care who tells it,” Sanders wrote. “Please stop trying to become relevant by misrepresenting my son. God bless you.”
The elder Sanders called out the account of spreading falsehoods for attention. His message resonated with fans, shutting down the speculation surrounding Shedeur’s draft plans.
Shedeur, one of college football’s brightest stars, is widely expected to be among the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. While rumors will undoubtedly continue to swirl around his future, it seems Coach Prime won’t tolerate anyone twisting the narrative about his son.

Shedeur Sanders was spotted tossing a football with New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers on the streets of New York City ahead of the Heisman ceremony on Saturday night. Videos on social media captured the duo casually throwing passes, drawing plenty of attention.
While the meet-up seemed lighthearted, it comes at a time when the Giants are in desperate need of a quarterback after parting ways with Daniel Jones earlier this season.
Adding to the intrigue, rumors earlier this year suggested that Deion Sanders and Shedeur might avoid joining a team they don't favor if drafted, potentially sitting out instead.
