Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes have managed to redeem themselves after last season's underwhelming 4-8 record. They joined the Big 12 this season and were close to being a contender for the conference title.
Unfortunately for Coach Prime and his team, their 37-21 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks resulted in them being eliminated from the Big 12 title contention and the 12-team College Football Playoff. With a 9-3 (7-2 Big 12) record, the Buffs have managed to qualify for the bowl games this year.
Before Deion Sanders and his team begin their bowl game preparations, the Colorado coach indulged in one of his favorite hobbies: fishing. On Friday, Coach Prime shared a post on Instagram, enjoying a relaxing day out by the lake and fishing peacefully to his heart's content. He sported a white hoodie along with a white Colorado cap to complete his look.
"Decisions Decisions, Thank God I know where to go for answers. 'I Ain't Hard 2 Find,'" Sanders wrote in the caption.
Apart from Coach Prime, Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter also enjoys fishing as a hobby. In November, both Hunter and Sanders went on a fishing trip together in Texas.
On ESPN's "SportsCenter," Travis Hunter talked about how he caught the biggest fish of his life on Deion Sanders' private property.
"I went to his property and I caught, I think, a 12-pounder largemouth," Hunter said. "That's my biggest."
NFL draft analyst believes Coach Prime will have a big role in Shedeur Sanders' draft pick
This season is also the final collegiate campaign for Deion Sanders' sons Shedeur and Shilo. Both of them are expected to declare for the 2025 NFL draft, hopeful of achieving success professionally.
NFL draft analyst Todd McShay believes that Coach Prime will have a big impact when it comes to his quarterback son's fate in the draft. He said Shedeur Sanders' NFL journey will be majorly decided by his father, who will have a say in the team that drafts him next year.
"One of the most fascinating pre-draft processes because Coach Prime is absolutely going to control where he (Shedeur) goes," McShay said. "He (Deion Sanders) is going to dictate, kind of, maybe there's two or three organizations that he'd be willing to let his son go play for so come up and get him. ...There's going to be a lot to unpack leading up to this April's draft."
Shedeur Sanders finished the regular season while tallying 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns passing for the Buffs. He was also recently honored with the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, given to the nation's best quarterback of the season. It will be interesting to see with which team Shedeur will begin his NFL journey next year.
