Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders and quarterback Shedeur Sanders met with former teammate Isaiah Jatta, ahead of their Alamo Bowl encounter against No. 17 BYU, on Thursday. The offensive linemen transferred to the Cougars after leaving Boulder earlier in the year.
Shedeur did a handshake while Deion had a chat with him.
The Alamo Bowl is set to be played on the Alamodome on December 28th, with Colorado coming in as a four-point underdog.
Despite the bookies preferring the more highly ranked Cougars, ESPN's game predictor is giving the Buffaloes a 58.7% chance of winning the encounter. The game will start at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, and it will air on ABC.
Pat Shurmur believes Shedeur Sanders is the best quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft
Colorado's offensive coordinator, and former New York Giants head coach, Pat Shurmur, believes that if a team decides to skip over Shedeur Sanders that's a decision the front office will immediately regret. On Thursday's press conference ahead of the Alamo Bowl, Shurmur said:
“I’ve told all the pro scouts if you need a quarterback take Shedeur and if you don’t take him you’re taking the second-best guy. Most players that make it in the NFL obviously have great skill and ability, which Shedeur has, have performed at a high level, which he does, has a true love for the game, which he has, and then is going to be an outstanding teammate. Really those are the four cornerstones of what makes a great pro.
“I don’t think we [at Colorado] realize how good Shedeur is, and we won’t until he’s gone.”
While Miami's Cameron Ward has risen in the odds to be the first overall pick in the NFL Draft, Shedeur Sanders still leads the odds as of this week, according to FanDuel, at -200.
