It's D-day for fans of the highly anticipated EA Sports College Football 25 game. Although the official release date is July 19, those who pre-ordered the deluxe version got to play it three days early.
Several patches have been released to counterbalance stability issues and bugs in the game, most recently on Thursday at 6 AM ET before the game's launch.
EA Sports game developers released an update on the upcoming patches to alert users on the aspects of the game that will be affected.
"Hey #CFB25 fans, server maintenance will begin tomorrow, Thursday July 18 at 6 AM ET. During this time, all online modes will be unavailable. Please be sure to complete all online games before maintenance begins! Stay tuned for an update when maintenance has completed," the update read.
College Football 25 patch notes
The next College Football 25 patch release will take place today as the standard editions of the game go on sale. The first-day patch will be significant and will likely include several changes not currently included in the game.
According to gamers on the Operation Sports Forum, the latest patch will deal with issues of audio balancing among several other changes.
Some of the bugs under the broad umbrella of the audio balance issues in EA Sports College Football 25 are increased chants during games and an increase in base game volume.
In-game animations were also impacted with the medical teams having enhanced equipment to treat injured players.
In Dynasty Mode, a free practice was added and the difficulty of the game went up a notch across all the various settings.
The EA Sports team announced that one of the most visible changes will be to the Stanford Cardinal's old logo, which will be replaced with the current one.
The bugs do not seem to have disrupted consumer interest as more than 700,000 players are already online, according to reports by the franchise.
There will likely be several additional patches as the game goes live across a multitude of users. The EA Sports College Football 25 team will continue trying to iron out any bugs that will only be apparent once the game is mass-consumed over a period of time.
