Two women have reportedly been charged with misdemeanor behavior after a chaotic altercation during the Syracuse vs. NC State football game on Saturday.

The incident unfolded at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina, where NC State lost to Syracuse 24-17.

A fight broke out in the stands as tensions mounted between the two women seated near the end zone. Recorded footage from onlookers reportedly featured the moment when a woman dressed in black flipped a cowboy hat off another woman’s head.

The woman who lost her hat retaliated with a powerful hit on the former’s face and knocked her opponent down. This immediately sparked a series of punches as both women delved into hairpulling and chaotic exchanges.

As the brawl in the stands escalated, several bystanders jumped in to separate the women. Following the incident, the North Carolina State University Police Department announced that one of the women involved was a student at the university, and the other was unaffiliated with the institution. Both women were charged with “affray,” a misdemeanor that pertains to engaging in a public fight or brawl.

The NCSUPD issued a statement emphasizing that “violence of any kind is unacceptable.” They reiterated their commitment to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for fans at NC State events and on campus.

In light of the altercation, both women have received lifetime bans from attending future Wolfpack football games at Carter-Finley Stadium.

While the fight drew considerable attention, the game itself showcased a strong performance from Syracuse. They improved to 5-1 for the season. Quarterback Kyle McCord, a transfer from Ohio State, played a crucial role in the victory. He completed 31 of 42 passes for 346 yards and threw two touchdowns.

In contrast, the defeat marked a disappointing moment for NC State, which dropped to 3-4.
