The SEC was dominant during the 10 years of the four-team format of the College Football Playoff. The conference had 12 appearances while winning six of the 10 championships, three times more than any other conference. The field has expanded to 12 teams in 2024, giving more programs an opportunity to reach the postseason.

While no conference had more than two teams selected to a single College Football Playoff in the previous format, that is expected to change with the expanded field. The Southeastern Conference may be the conference that benefits the most as they have consistently had multiple teams finish outside the top four but inside the top 12 of the final postseason rankings.

Following Week 2, the conference has six teams ranked in the top seven and eight teams ranked in the top 16, with three others receiving votes. Take a look at which SEC teams could make the postseason below. All odds are from DraftKings sportsbook.

Which SEC teams could make 12-team CFP this season?

The No.1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs have as good of a chance as any team to make the postseason as they are tied with the Ohio State Buckeyes with the best odds, -750, to be among the final 12 teams standing. Georgia has gotten off to a 2-0 start with back-to-back blowout victories over the No. 22-ranked Clemson Tigers and Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles.

#4: Ole Miss Rebels

The No. 5-ranked Ole Miss Rebels' -200 postseason odds are the sixth-best in the nation. They are yet another SEC team with two blowouts to open the season, taking down the Furman Paladins and Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders.

#5: Missouri Tigers

The No .6-ranked Missouri Tigers have +155 odds to reach the College Football Playoff, which is the tenth-best in the nation. They have also picked up two wins via blowouts of the Murray State Racers and Buffalo Bulls.
