The Oklahoma State Cowboys suffered a big loss during the first half of their game against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday.
Collin Oliver injury update
The Cowboys' star linebacker Collin Oliver suffered an apparent leg injury during the second quarter of the matchup and was taken to the locker room to undergo further evaluation.
Oliver played a crucial role in Oklahoma State's lone touchdown of the first half versus Arkansas, applying pressure to Taylen Green, forcing him to make an errant pass that was intercepted by Kale Smith.
Smith returned the interception 73 yards for a touchdown, cutting Arkansas' lead to seven before the Razorbacks managed to put another touchdown on the board before halftime.
When will Collin Oliver return?
As per Yahoo Sports, Oliver was getting x-rays on his lower right leg and was later found out to be not participating in the rest of the game. It is not known if Oliver will return for Week 3 game or if his injury will force him to be out for the season.
Oliver is one of Oklahoma State's biggest stars, recording 73 tackles (15.5 tackles for loss) and six sacks for the Cowboys in 2023. Last weekend in Oklahoma State's 44-20 season-opening win against SD State, Oliver recorded two tackles, both tackles for loss, and a sack.
No. 16 Oklahoma State trails unranked Arkansas at halftime
As previously mentioned, the Oklahoma State Cowboys are reeling at home versus an unranked Arkansas squad.
Arkansas has shut down Oklahoma State's star running back Ollie Gordon in the first half, limiting Gordon to just 11 yards on six carries.
Oklahoma State quarterback Alex Bowman has also struggled versus the Razorbacks, completing just nine of his 18 first-half pass attempts for 64 yards and an interception.
Arkansas is rolling versus No. 16 Oklahoma State, notching 351 yards of total offense in the first half while holding the Cowboys to just 77 total yards. Green has completed 13 of 20 passes for 193 yards, adding another 71 yards on the ground.
Arkansas running back Ja'Quinden Jackson is also making his presence felt, recording 14 carries for 90 yards and three touchdowns in the first half versus Oklahoma State.
The 16th-ranked Cowboys will look to bounce back with a strong second half to avoid being upset at home.
