Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is not a fan of EA College Football 25's ratings of Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders.
EA Sports announced the ratings ahead of the game being released on July 19. The video game released the top 100 players and Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter were both in the top 100.
Sanders was tied with Carson Beck as the top-ranked quarterback at 93 overall which Deion didn't understand.
“I’m just trying to figure out how can Shedeur be tied with another person. How did that happen? I don’t know nothing about that video game. I’m not a video game guy. I love video games but I’m a real game guy. I don’t know. Like, you guys talk about ratings and rankings, I don’t know about that stuff," Deion Sanders said.
What made Deion more confused was Travis Hunter's overall. Hunter is a two-way player and is the sixth-ranked player in the game with 95 overall, but Deion thinks he is the top player in college football.
“How can Travis not have the highest score on the game when he’s arguably the best receiver and the best defensive back in college football. So, how can you not be the number one rated guy, period? I don’t understand that either.”
Deion Sanders does make a good point as Travis Hunter is a game-changing player on both sides of the ball.
Deion Sanders focused on winning in 2024
Entering the 2024 season, Deion Sanders is focused on winning and having success with the Colorado Buffaloes.
Sanders and Colorado were the talk of college football last season as the Buffaloes started the year going 3-0. However, they finished the year 4-8, and entering his second year as head coach, Deion is focused on winning.
"I'd be an idiot to sit over here and not tell you we plan on winning," Sanders said, via ESPN. "I don't know who sits down and says they don't plan on winning. You got to be an idiot to say that. We definitely plan on winning, and first and foremost, it starts with the staff. I think we have over 140 years of NFL experience on the staff.
"Certainly, we have two guys that are positioned to go in the top five in the draft [Sanders and Hunter], but I think we're going to have two more that's going to sneak in that first round. Let me give you B.J. Green. I'm not going to tell you the fourth."
Colorado will open its college football season at home on Aug. 29 against North Dakota State.
