After Colorado (9-3) narrowly missed out on the Big 12 championship game, Deion Sanders is off this weekend. The Buffaloes had their fate in their hands on the route to the title game. However, a loss on the road to Kansas in Week 13 ruined their chances.
Coach Prime was out fishing on Friday. The coach is known for his deep love for bass fishing, and he has once disclosed he could have been a professional in it. He shared a moment during the recreational activity on Instagram, leading to a series of reactions.
Colorado linebacker Jeremiah Brown took the opportunity to troll his coach. Commenting on Deion Sanders' fishing post on Instagram, he made a hypothetical joke, believing the coach’s attempts were futile.
“POV HE DIDNT CATCH ANYTHING😂,” Brown wrote.
Deion Sanders says Colorado players will play in bowl game
It was a fun day for Deion Sanders as he went out to do one of the things he loves most. However, he has to get set for what's next for his Buffaloes team after a noteworthy season. Despite the poor offseason projections, Coach Prime led Colorado to a 9-3 record.
The Buffaloes were undoubtedly one of the best teams in the Big 12 throughout the season, showcasing brilliance on both sides of the ball. While they missed out on the conference championship, they will be appearing in a bowl game for the first time under Coach Prime.
While bowl games have become increasingly less interesting with senior players opting out, Deion Sanders has confirmed Colorado's top stars entering the NFL draft will feature in the bowl game.
“Our kids are going to play in our bowl game because that's what we signed up to do, and we're going to finish. We're not going to tap out because that throws off the structure of next season," Sanders said during his post-game press conference after shutting down Oklahoma State 52-0 last Friday.
"It's a couple teams that you take note with, and they laid an egg in the bowl game and haven't recovered since. We don't plan on doing that. We plan on going out there fighting."
Deion Sanders, however, has a poor record in bowl games in his college football career. He currently boasts a 0-2 record in the celebrated postseason matchup, losing the Celebration Bowl twice at Jackson State.
He will be aiming to turn that around at Colorado this season. It remains unknown what bowl game. The Buffaloes haven't won a bowl game since beating UTEP 33-28 in 2004, making the task more difficult for Sanders.
