Deion Sanders changed the lives of many athletes since his arrival in Boulder through NIL, but his 'Prime Time' effect on Colorado's 99-year-old superfan, Peggy Coppom, is something else. Coppom landed an NIL deal thanks to her friendship with coach Deion Sanders.

The Colorado Buffaloes are no strangers to big-name deals, but this one is truly one-of-a-kind. In collaboration with Blenders Eyewear, Coach Prime announced the launch of the “Peggy Sleeve.”

Blender's official Instagram handle posted a photo with Coach Prime and Coppom announcing the NIL initiative. The caption read:

“Meet the Peggy Sleeve, a tribute to 99-year-old superfan, Peggy Coppom. For over eight decades… For every sleeve sold, Peggy will receive $1—a small token to someone who’s given so much.”

Coppom is the first fan ever to benefit directly from a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreement. She has supported the Colorado football program through decades of highs and lows, earning her a special place in the hearts of fans and players alike.

Her connection with Sanders began in January 2023, when the coach gave her a home visit, and the two have been close ever since. Now, that bond has led to this groundbreaking NIL deal.

In a collaboration with Blenders Eyewear, Coppom is now the face of the new "Peggy Sleeve," a sunglasses accessory that features her waving Colorado pom-poms alongside Sanders' famous slogan, "I AIN'T HARD 2 FIND, EITHER."

This isn't just a fun novelty—Peggy Coppom will receive a share of the proceeds from every sleeve sold, making her the first fan to profit from a NIL deal.

Priced at $8, the Peggy Sleeve adds a special touch to the ongoing partnership between Deion Sanders and Blenders, which has already seen success.

Coppom, who’s thrilled by the unexpected recognition, shared with USA TODAY Sports:

“Well, my gosh, this year, first of all, it’s been unbelievable, and it’s been a lot of fun. There’s been a lot of excitement and a lot of public recognition, which I didn’t ever feel like I should have. But anyway, it happened because of my friendship with him.”

As Blenders Eyewear gears up to launch the “PRIME II” collection this fall, it’s clear that the beloved superfan has become an integral part of the team’s growing hype.
