Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders played professional football and baseball during his iconic career. He is the only person to play in a Super Bowl and a World Series.

The 2024 edition of the World Series starts this week, between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. This series will feature two of the best baseball players in the world: Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani.

While most sports fans will focus on this heavily anticipated series, Sanders will not. In a recent press conference, he was asked about his thoughts on the matchup.

"I don't care about no World Series. At all," he replied.

Sanders has other things to focus on. Last week, the Buffaloes easily defeated the Arizona Wildcats, giving them their fifth win this season. This is more than the four wins that the Buffaloes had last season, putting them one win away from being bowl-eligible.

That win could come this weekend when the Buffaloes face the Cincinnati Bearcats. Sanders prepares them for this game and the rest of the season, where Colorado will try to avoid a late-season collapse. Sanders wants to focus on his team and get his sons Shedeur and Shilo in the best position possible before the 2025 NFL draft.

Deion Sanders in the World Series

Deion Sanders played in the 1992 edition of the World Series with the Atlanta Braves. This was his best season with the Braves and was at the height of Sanders' spell of playing both professional baseball and football.

The 1992 World Series was between the Braves and the Toronto Blue Jays. The Canadian team would win the series 4–2, in which Sanders would play in four of those games.

Sanders had 15 at-bats in the series and a batting average of .533. He led Atlanta in on-base percentage (.558) and slugging rate (.667). However, Sanders would not return to the World Series after 1992. He would go on to win two Super Bowls.
