One reason for the optimism surrounding Colorado football is star Travis Hunter's two-way abilities, which make him one of the best players in the game. As the Buffs embark upon their new Big 12 challenge, Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders are the cornerstones of coach Deion Sanders's project.
Off the gridiron, Hunter has posted bits and pieces of his life as an engaged man on various social media platforms after proposing to his long-term girlfriend, Leanna Lenee, in February.
On Monday, Lenee posted a series of pictures on Instagram while wearing a white dress. Her caption stated:
"who u w wyd way," she wrote.
Travis Hunter reacted to the post with a heart emoji:
Travis Hunter and Lenee began dating as students at Collins High School. The couple moved to Boulder and got engaged in Puerto Rico a few months ago.
The pair started a popular YouTube channel, Travis and Leanna, where they engage fans by discussing their shared goals and lives. Leanna graduated from Kennesaw State University two years ago.
Travis Hunter earns prestigious preseason honors
On Monday, before week zero of college football starts, Travis Hunter earned preseason AP All-America honors. A few days ago, ESPN analysts ranked him No. 3 among college football players.
"The most talented two-way player of his generation, Hunter has the ability to be an All-American on either side of the ball," Hunter's ranking description says. "For the Buffs to improve off their four-win season a year ago, it will likely require a monster season from Hunter, who is all but guaranteed to leave for the NFL after the season."
Hunter more than earned his two-way star status after he tallied 436 plays on offense, 30 special teams snaps and 566 plays on defense. Despite missing a chunk of the season with a lacerated liver, he registered 721 yards on 57 receptions, which resulted in five touchdowns.
He also tallied three interceptions, five pass breakups and 31 tackles, underlining his versatility.
If the Buffaloes are to outperform last season's 4-8 record, they'll need Travis Hunter to be at his best as the team embarks on their latest Big 12 journey.
