This year's Rocky Mountain Showdown will be hosted by the Colorado State Rams, who'd like to snap the six-game winning streak of the Colorado Buffaloes in this rivalry. The game will take place at Canvas Stadium on the CSU campus and can be watched on CBS.

It will be the first time since 1996 that the Rocky Mountain Showdown will be played at the CSU campus. Both teams are 1-1. While the Colorado State is coming off a win over the Northern Colorado Bears, the Buffs went down against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Colorado State Rams vs Colorado Buffaloes head-to-head

This will be the 93rd meeting in the historical rivalry. The Buffaloes, who are on a six-game winning streak since 2015, also lead the overall record with 68-22-2.

Coaches of both programs, Jay Norvell for CSU and Deion Sanders for Colorado, locked horns last year in Boulder. The game went down to the wire, with the latter eventually coming out as (43-35) winners.

Notable records between Colorado State Rams and Colorado Buffaloes

The longest win streak for Colorado Buffaloes in this rivalry is of 12 games when they won every game played between 1934-47. The largest margin of victory was 67-0 in favor of Colorado in 1894.

Meanwhile, for the CSU, the longest win streak was three games, when they won each game between 1925-27. Their largest victory was a 49-7 win in 1919.

While the Buffaloes have won one national championship, the Colorado State Rams are still searching for their first. Thus, in historical context, the Colorado program has been much better than its in-state rival.

Who is favored in Colorado State Rams vs. Colorado Buffaloes game?

Early betting odds suggest Colorado taking the game as a 7.5-point favorite in this one. The total for the game is projected to be 59.5 points. On the moneyline, Colorado is -265 while CSU is listed at +215.

While the odds do favor Colorado, it won't be that easy for them to subdue Colorado State. Despite having Heisman contenders in senior quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter, the team's offensive line remains a big concern, which flared up in their loss against the Cornhuskers.

For Jay Norvell's CSU, starting quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi's pass game will be at the fore. While he doesn't have a good rush game, he has thrown for 239 yards on 27-of-44 pass attempts which includes one touchdown and one interception.
