Coach Prime and the No. 23-ranked Colorado Buffaloes lost the Alamo Bowl 36-14 to the No. 17-ranked BYU Cougars on Saturday. Well Off Media, owned by Deion Sanders Jr., released a behind-the-scenes video of the game on Sunday.
In one clip (starting at 11:32), Travis Hunter is penalized for blocking while out of bounds. He is given an unsportsmanlike penalty for the play. Coach Prime lashes out at a referee upon the call. He said:
"Defense ain't blocking! How would the defense block? Why would that be?"
Based on Deion Sanders' comments, he does not believe Hunter committed the penalty.
Coach Prime does not get a win in his last game coaching Travis Hunter and his sons
Bowl games are always meaningful in college football, but this one had more meaning for Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes. Not only was it the last game of the season, but it was the last game he would coach Travis Hunter and his two sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders.
All three players are expected to enter the 2025 NFL draft. Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are both projected to be two of the first players drafted in the class. They are in the mix to be the first overall pick.
Hunter won the Heisman Trophy this season over other finalists, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Miami QB Cam Ward and Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel. He is viewed by many as one of the most dynamic players to come out of college football in recent memory.
Shedeur Sanders is viewed as one of the two best quarterbacks in his class alongside Ward. As a result, there is a chance he will be drafted first overall. The two teams at the top of the draft that appear to be most interested in drafting a QB are the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders.
Safety Shilo Sanders is also projected to be drafted, albeit much later. He is viewed as a late-round draft pick, so where he ends up is much less clear.
