On Saturday evening, the No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes face the No. 7 Tennessee Volunteers in the first round of the College Football Playoff. This will be the first time that the Buckeyes have played since their defeat to rivals Michigan a few weeks ago.

During his appearance on College GameDay in Columbus, Ohio, OSU coach Ryan Day vowed to "turn things around" after the defeat to Michigan that took them out of contention for the Big Ten Championship Game.

Here is how fans reacted to his comments on social media

These fans voiced their disapproval of Coach Day.

"Ryan day is the definition of zero aura," this fan said.
"Just show up," another fan said.
"Fire Ryan Day!" a third fan said.

These fans want Day to focus on the upcoming game against Tennessee.

"Completely obsessed with Michigan. He can’t go 30 seconds without mentioning them or the game," this fan said.
"As a Buckeye fan I support him and the team! But if he loses to Tennessee at home then I don’t know what will happen," this fan said.
"I’ll believe it when I see it," this fan said .
"Ryan Day always saying the right thing… time to do the right things when the pressure is on instead of tucking his tail between his legs like a lost puppy in the big moments," another fan said.

Ryan Day in 'big games'

Ryan Day has been in charge of the Buckeyes since 2019 and has an overall record of 66-10.

However, his performances have often been left wanting in many College Football Playoff games and any meeting with rival the Michigan Wolverines.

Against Michigan, Day has a 1-4 record. This year's game should have been an easy win for the Buckeyes, considering Michigan's poor season. But Day and his team lost 13-10.

It is a similar story in the CFP. Ohio State has played in four CFP games under Day and went 1-3.

Fans' hostile feelings toward Day are reflected in many of his performances in big games. This weekend's test against the Vols will provide him with a chance at winning over the OSU faithful.
