Deion Sanders confirms Travis Hunter not the only two-way player left in Colorado

The Colorado Buffaloes have gained another two-way player on their roster. From this week, alongside the highly talented Travis Hunter will be Tyler Brown.

The announcement of Brown's new position was shared on social media.

"Coach Prime just confirmed Colorado OL Tyler Brown who was getting reps at DL is now a two-way player," We Coming tweeted on X on Wednesday.

Brown, whose main position is offensive guard, is on the offensive line.

Brown arrived in Boulder in 2023. He (like many members of the Colorado Buffaloes under Deion Sanders) played for Jackson State before that.

However, while he entered the program in 2023, he did not play a game that season.

This was because the Buffaloes were his third team, and NCAA rules say that players who transfer to more than one team during college will have to miss a year when they join their third (or more) team.

This rule has now been removed by the NCAA in a decision that is highly linked to the NIL.

Missing the 2023 season did have its advantages for Brown. That year, the offensive line was poor, and Deion Sanders ultimately replaced the whole team, a fate Brown was spared.

The offensive line has heavily improved in 2024. But Brown has not just been playing offense, he has also been part of the defensive line, which has been equally successful.

No matter how little, these performances have helped the Buffaloes win six games so far this season, making them bowl-eligible for the first time since 2016.

Deion Sanders does not want his team ranked?

However while the Colorado Buffaloes are having a very good season and come into this week as a ranked team, Deion Sanders does not want his team ranked.

During his press conference on Tuesday, Sanders told voters in the AP Poll not to vote for his team. He then gave his opinion on rankings in general:

"Rankings are like a tease, man. Rankings can fool you."

Sanders believes that coming into the week as a ranked team can change how one sees the team.

If they are ranked (and therefore one of the top 25 teams in the country), the team may think they are better than they actually are, which could reduce the effort on the field.

However, like it or not, Sanders' Buffaloes are ranked No. 20 this week and will remain ranked if they defeat the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
