Deion Sanders' daughter, Deiondra Sanders, is ready for her father's Colorado Buffaloes to play their postseason matchup on Saturday at the Alamo Bowl against No. 17 BYU. On Friday, the daughter of the NFL superstar turned college coach posted a picture of her son ready to attend the game at the Alamodome in San Antonio, all draped in Buffs apparel.
She added the caption:
"San Antonio we on the way #gobuffs."
The Buffaloes will be playing the school's first postseason game since 2020 when Colorado also participated in the Alamo Dome. On that occasion, they fell 55-23 to the Texas Longhorns. If they were to win it this time around, it would be their first postseason victory since 2004, when they beat the UTEP Miners 33-28 at the Houston Bowl.
The season has been one of reclaiming old heights for the Buffaloes. With their 9-3 overall record, they have already achieved their first season with a winning record since 2016 (when they finished 10-4). It was also just the second time in school history that a Colorado player won the Heisman Trophy (Rashaan Salaam in 1994 and Travis Hunter in 2024).
Deion Sanders on what it means to bring Colorado to a postseason bowl game
Ahead of the upcoming match, Deion Sanders admitted that he will more likely than not be overwhelmed by the emotion when they take to the field. Here's what he said on his latest interaction with the press:
"It’s gonna be something to behold, I don’t know how I’m gonna handle it. I know Travis is gonna trigger me. I know it because he always does, and he’s gonna bring tears out of my eyes. But I don’t look forward to it. But I do, because that means they’re going to another level, another chapter of life. And they’re gonna soar."
It will be, without a doubt, an emotional moment for Sanders as it will also be his farewell to his sons, Shilo and Shedeur, who are certain to be playing at the professional level next year.
