The Colorado Buffaloes under coach Deion Sanders shook off the disappointment of the Week 7 loss to the Kansas State Wildcats to record a comprehensive 34-7 win against the Arizona Wildcats in Week 8 action. The Buffs improved to 5-2 and are one win away from bowl eligibility for the first time since 2020.

Athlon Sports analyst Steven Corder highlighted the "Coach Prime Effect" whereby games involving the Buffs garner the most views certain teams get the whole season.

"Since Coach Prime took over, Colorado has become must-see TV. With electrifying talents like Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, the Buffaloes have captured national attention," Corder wrote. "Take Nebraska, for example—when they faced Colorado, 6.3 million people tuned in, the highest for any Cornhuskers game this season.
"Similarly, Colorado State's matchup with the Buffs pulled in 3.2 million viewers, smashing their previous numbers."

On Sunday, Coach Prime's firstborn daughter Deiondra Sanders reposted the graphic to the article calling Colorado "America's Team" on her Instagram stories.

Under Coach Prime, the Colorado Buffaloes were the third-most watched team in the country with an average of six million viewers last season, just behind the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Deion Sanders hits back at President Obama

Deion Sanders is one of the most renowned coaches in the country due to his charisma and talent during his playing days in the NFL and the MLB, accounting for the "Coach Prime Effect." Since he arrived in Boulder, Colorado, games have been frequently attended by celebrities.

The Buffs coach found himself in the spotlight after former President Barack Obama backed the Arizona Wildcats to beat the Buffaloes. After the win, during his postgame news conference, Sanders hit back at the former President's remarks.

"President Obama is everything to me," Sanders said. "I mean, I love him, I admire him. I respect him tremendously. But I heard what he said, you know?"
"President, I heard what you said, man," Sanders said. "Like c’mon, c’mon. That’s why I really don’t get into politics. I’m into people. Because politicians, they play the political game, and he was here and had to play the political games that they have two good players.
"We got more than two good players. But then you’re here [in Tucson], so you have to support that."
