While Shelomi Sanders awaits the commencement of the women's college basketball season, she has given all her support to the Colorado football team, coached by her father, Deion Sanders. She's attending games to offer her support to all the families involved in the team.
Shelomi, alongside her mother, Pilar Sanders, was in attendance at Colorado's Week 4 game against Baylor at Folsom Field in Boulder on Saturday. The Buffaloes came from behind to defeat the Bears 38-31, in what was their first game in the Big 12 since returning to the conference.
It was a fun-filled day for Shelomi Sanders, and she documented it in a vlog on YouTube. A sneak peek to the game day vlog was posted on Shelomi’s Instagram story, with Pilar Sanders capturing moments with fans. The full game day vlog will be released on Wednesday, according to Shelomi.
Shelomi Sanders enjoying the last moments in Boulder
Shelomi Sanders is enjoying the moment having fun in Boulder watching her father and brothers represent Colorado. However, she will soon be leaving for Normal, Alabama, to represent her new school as the 2024-25 women's college basketball season draws closer.
Deion Sanders' daughter transferred to Alabama A&M this offseason to continue her college basketball career with the Bulldogs. She made the bold move to enter the transfer portal in April and leave her family behind in Boulder, much to the discontent of her father.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank my creator for allowing me to have this platform with amazing experiences," Shelomi said. “I want to thank my coaches and the university for accepting me to be a part of the family, it’s been a blessing accomplishing as much as we did.
“I would like to thank my family and my support system for always uplifting and pouring into me on and off the court as a student-athlete. My time at Colorado has been a treat with amazing experiences along the way. With intentional consideration and prayer, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.”
How did Deion Sanders react to Shelomi’s transfer?
Deion Sanders wasn't on board with his daughter's decision to leave Colorado. The coach always loved to keep his family together, In an interview with DNVR Sports, Coach Prime made his discontent known on Shelomi Sanders' decision to enter the transfer portal.
“It was stupid,” Deion Sanders bluntly said. “You get a team before you enter the portal. That’s what I would advise a kid. I know, ‘Well, it’s illegal.’
"C’mon, man. Everybody knows somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody. You kind of want them to do something, and she has been truly advised.”
Coach Prime faced some criticism from his ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, regarding his remarks about their daughter’s transfer. However, Shelomi subsequently disclosed that she resolved the issue with Coach Prime, removing the layers of tension brought about by Shelomi's transfer decision.
